When I had to stop running a couple of years ago, I put on weight and struggled to find an exercise program that provided the same level of intensity as running. Conrad put together a program where we trained for 3 times per week, with a further 1-2 days of training by myself. The training slots increased in intensity each week and comprised a mixture of body weight and free weight exercises. I booked 10 sessions to ensure I remained committed, moreover, it also proved better value.

I was particularly pleased about the variety of exercises Conrad chose which developed muscles I had simply ignored in my previous training. Conrad introduced me to many new exercises and combinations of exercises that I revisit and mix up time and time again. My key results after 5 weeks were:

“In 2010 I damaged the muscles in my left ankle playing rugby. After a few weeks off I played again, using a standard compression tape technique on my ankle for support. This worked for the first game, although I suffered from reduced movement and speed. In the second game I re-injured the ankle despite the compression tape.

This is when I decided to visit Conrad O’Hagan, who convinced me try his new strapping technique using Kinesio Tape. Conrad applied the Kinesio Tape in narrow strips to support each individual muscle in my foot. Needless to say I was skeptical, as I had not seen Kinesio Tape before (it was a few months later that I noticed professional athletes using it) and I could barely feel the tape on me. It allowed me so much movement that it felt like nothing was there.

After receiving the strapping I played rugby, expecting that the Kinesio Tape would not work, and that I would need to retire injured. You can imagine my surprise when not only did I complete the match, but I did so with almost 100% movement and no ill-effects. The tape lasted for another match before I visited Conrad for a re-application. This was the only re-application I needed, as the ankle healed more quickly than expected.

“A year ago, in July, I decided that I was too heavy and very uncomfortable the weight I was and needed to lose it. I put myself on a diet and lo! The pounds started to fall away. Also, I had pain in my knee and limited range of motion in my shoulder. Both had been getting increasingly worse over a period of about 2-3 years and neither were being “cured” by either my physio or chiropractor. I knew the pain was soft tissue related and not arthritic. A friend had discovered Conrad on the internet and was very pleased with the results he was getting from the exercises and diet, so I thought my problems may be helped with exercise.

I thought it was worth a try. I started with Conrad, on a weekly basis, September 2012 and to date the pain in my knee has gone and range of movement in my shoulder has greatly improved. I had had lower back and hip pain for at least 5 years. I also had ACL reconstruction surgery and multiple ankle injuries, ligament tears and an ankle break followed by surgery. I had been to physios and chiropractors for about 10 years which helped short term but never seemed to solve my pain issues or ability to play sport as freely as I would like. Conrad assessed my issues and worked with me to resolve my problems which plenty of medical and clinical professionals had struggled with long term. Ultimately it was all about strength and mobility. I have now been pain free and healthy to play sport, even football, for the last year. Conrad is a consummate professional and expert. He pushes his clients hard to overcome the issues they are working through. He is clear, open and driven to help his clients achieve their goals.

I undertook a shoulder programme with Conrad over the last 3-4 months to correct long term issues I have been experiencing with my shoulders. 

My arms have typically hung low causing my shoulders to round and my upper traps and teres major and teres minor to be very tight. This has redulted in some very painful trigger points in my back and neck as well as limited overhead range of motion for my shoulders. 

Since starting the programme with Conrad, I have noticed a decreasing need for self-massage in my upper back with fewer trigger points, more sustained range of movement in my shoulders, stronger and more prominent neck muscles (with better connection into and coordination with the upper traps). We focus on keeping my rib cage expanded in the exercises using a lighter weight but really focusing on challenging the relevant support muscles in the exercise. My posture has improved and my strength in my shoulders and traps as a result of this programme. I would highly recommend it to those who have similar issues with their shoulders and back.

I have realized that along this health and fitness journey, I have impacted my family, friends and co-workers with my lifestyle change that they have asked how I did it, and it’s all about having a vision for where you are going, working hard and working to small goals because without a vision your goals can perish.

Talofa lava my name is Zak and I would like to share about my health and fitness journey.
Before working with Conrad, I have been involved in a lot of short term exercise and fitness programs which came with very strict diet meal plans and I was restricted in what I can eat, I mean I loved my food and I thought that I will give it a go.
I would lose a lot of weight in the process and when I reached my weight loss goal after the program, then I will go back to my old eating habits and start to indulge in eating junk food again because I was looking forward to the end of the 5 or 6 week program I missed my favourite foods.
I ended up putting the weight back on in the process and then I get in to another weight loss program and it will be the same thing a cycle I knew I had to break but didn’t know how.
I knew something had to change when I was experiencing dizziness, lethargy, loosing balance and getting headaches all the time.
I went to see the doctor about my symptoms and they did a full check up and tested my blood, urine and sugar levels and they said that I was fine and made a appointment for a CT head scan and chest scan and when I got the results back, they couldn’t find anything related to the symptoms that I described and then I knew that it was my eating habits had to change and it was time to eat healthy and make healthy choices.

When I started Conrad’s program in January 2022 , he wanted to see my food journal for the week and he noted a lot of unhealthy food choices in my journal.
Instead of putting me on a strict regime diet, Conrad just simply said to make small adjustments in my breakfast times, instead of having pies, replace with porridge and eggs, he did the same for lunch instead of having chicken and chips replace with a chicken or tuna salad wrap and dinner instead of kfc, make some chicken breast grilled with salads, and the more I stuck to these small adjustments I realized it made a huge difference and I no longer had a urge to have pies, chips fizzy drinks or sweets because my body was starting to adjust to the change, my taste bud’s changed and the smell for kfc, pies chips and other sweet stuff has changed and the snacking I was doing in between my meals was my protein shakes and protein bars.

My exercises and training routines also changed and the fat that I used to have has turned into muscle and Conrad has helped me to develop the muscles that I never I had and I no longer have sore knees and aching hamstrings but I have a spring in my step and feel more mobile and flexible, I can do proper push ups, I feel stronger and great about myself.
I have realized that along this health and fitness journey, I have impacted my family, friends and co-workers with my lifestyle change that they have asked how I did it, and it’s all about having a vision for where you are going, working hard and working to small goals because without a vision your goals can perish.

Conrad set goals that were realistic and simple to follow and I caught a hold of it and put it in to practice and maintained it, it was a struggle at first but I was determined to work hard at it and Conrad encouraged me along the way and also gave me good advice, and a good telling off if I strayed a bit and that is good accountability and it helps me to grow in to a better person and a lot of people are really blessed and encouraged by this.

My weight at the beginning of January 2022, was around 127 kg and now I currently weigh 101.7 thanks to The O’Hagan fitness program I am determined to continue this journey with my family.
I highly recommend Conrad O’Hagan fitness program, his program not only focuses on the physicality aspect but the wholeness and wellness of your well-being which includes spiritual health, mental well-being physical health and most importantly your support systems which is your family.
